About Southern Environmental Technologies

Headquartered in Sewanee, TN, Southern Environmental Technologies specializes in providing comprehensive and professional services to our clients throughout the Southeast. Southern Environmental Technologies owner Maureen Handler is a senior environmental engineer with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech. She has spent her career in the field, excavating and cleaning up contaminated properties. Besides concentrating on her business, Maureen is very involved with non-profit organizations that deal with protecting the environment. The SERA Karst Task Force, (SKTF), is a nonprofit organization of cave explorers that promotes ground water and cave protection and conservation.

Our team provides a variety of expert services, including erosion control, construction engineering, construction quality control, site cleanup and construction management, for construction, industry and governmental clients.
